Cursor-Alternatives.com ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website https://cursor-alternatives.com/ (the "Site"), a directory of AI coding assistants, editors, and developer tools. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have regarding it.
By using the Site — browsing listings, submitting a tool, or purchasing a paid placement — you agree to the practices described below.
Data Controller

1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide directly
When you submit a tool for listing or contact us, we collect: your name and email address; the tool's name, website URL, and description; category and tags; logo and any additional images you upload; and any social media links you provide.
1.2 Information collected automatically
When you browse the Site we automatically collect standard log data — IP address, browser type, device/OS information, pages visited, referring URLs, and timestamps — and approximate location derived from IP address.
We use analytics tools, including Yandex Metrica, to understand how visitors use the Site. See Section 3 (Cookies) for details.
1.3 Payment information
Paid listings are processed by Creem (creem.io), which acts as the Merchant of Record for these transactions. Creem collects your name, email, billing address, and payment details directly and is the data controller for that payment data — we never see or store your full card details. We only receive what's needed to confirm your order and manage your listing (e.g., email address, order and subscription status). Creem's own privacy practices are described at https://www.creem.io/privacy.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Review, approve, and publish tool listings
- Communicate with you about your submission or subscription
- Process and manage paid listings through Creem
- Operate, secure, and improve the Site
- Analyze usage and traffic trends
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or technical issues
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Site uses cookies and comparable technologies (including Yandex Metrica) to recognize your browser and analyze traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings — some Site features may not work properly without them. Where required by law, we request consent before setting non-essential cookies.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA/UK Visitors)
- Contract performance — to process your listing submission or paid subscription
- Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve the Site
- Consent — for non-essential cookies and any optional marketing emails
- Legal obligation — where processing is required by applicable law
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:
- Creem (creem.io) — to process payments, as Merchant of Record
- Directify — our directory hosting/platform provider
- Analytics providers (e.g., Yandex Metrica) — to understand Site usage
- Authorities or advisors — where required by law
- A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale
6. Public Listings
Tool name, description, category, tags, logo, images, and any links you submit are intended for public display once your listing is approved. Your personal name and email address are used only for verification and communication and are not published, unless you choose to include them yourself within the listing content.
7. International Data Transfers
We are based in Poland (EU). Some service providers (analytics, hosting, payments) may process data outside the EEA. Where this happens, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or the provider's own compliance framework.
8. Data Retention
We keep submission and account data for as long as a listing is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping and legal/tax purposes.
9. Your Rights
EEA/UK (GDPR): You can access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data, object to processing, request portability, and withdraw consent at any time. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, or with Poland's Personal Data Protection Office (UODO), which has jurisdiction over our processing.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You can request to know, delete, or correct your personal information, and to opt out of sale/sharing — we do not sell personal information.
To exercise any right, contact us at [support@cursor-alternatives.com].
10. Data Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children; contact us if you believe we have, and we will delete it.
12. Third-Party Links
The Site links to third-party tools and websites listed in the directory. We are not responsible for their privacy practices — review their policies directly.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates take effect when posted here, with the Effective Date revised accordingly.
